Chemistry explores the nature of chemical materials and their potential at the molecular level. Biological Science explores the nature of life itself based on the understandings of the properties of chemical materials and their interactions.

The Department of Chemistry and Biological Science aims to develop new interdisciplinary fields in science and technology which accommodate research in environments, life, resources, and information.

This department offers a unique curriculum that fulfills students' demands to learn through a variety of lectures, experiments, and practical training based on five core subjects. The goal of this curriculum is to produce students who can demonstrate their abilities in new and diverse fields supported by their broad knowledge of science and technology and flexible thinking.

Specifically, students learn advanced chemistry which is applicable to the research and development of medicines, cosmetics, organic and inorganic materials as well as genetics, protein science, and biotechnology. Additionally, faculty members provide friendly assistance to help students acquire the knowledge, skills, and techniques which will allow them to play an active role in society.
